'Storm' Warning

‘Storm’ Warning

Over the last month there have been a number of tragic events across the world and the media brings them up ‘close and personal’ ie the Shoreham air crash and the tragic consequences that are unfolding for many migrating families.
For those people who are not personally caught up in these public disasters seeing the images can vividly bring back to life individual traumatic events from the past.  PTSD symptoms can include:

  • Strong reactions
  • Feelings of fear, sadness, guilt and anger
  • Questions about personal safety and how much control does a person have over one’s life

These are just some symptoms; what is important to remember is that this is normal and in most cases will gradually become less intense after a few weeks. Sometimes, though distressing events can be difficult to overcome and you may benefit from some professional help.

This is not a sign of weakness, it is simply that the event was too much to deal with at a particular point in time – don’t be afraid to ask for help and if you would like to investigate it further with the help of a professional therapist, then call us today on 01702 715892 or leave a message on our Contact form
