Single Session Therapy

Single Session Therapy or SST is a model of service delivery that recognises that most people can benefit from one session of therapy alone. It can be useful when there is a high demand for help, such as during a time of crisis like we are now facing with the Coronavirus outbreak. By tapping into existing skills and drawing upon helpful thinking and behavioural styles, many people find that they are able to get through immediate challenges. The ‘single session’ focuses on a client’s most pressing concerns and helps them to develop a ‘get-through’ plan. If one session is not enough, people can seek further help from the NHS or other relevant organisations. Alternatively, Atrium offers additional sessions. All individual single sessions of therapy are charged per hour, but group single sessions are free.
